Digital Image engaged The Time-lapse Company to capture the dismantling of an important statue dedicated to fallen soldiers which has now been put into long-term storage while St Kilda Rd is transformed for the Melbourne Metro Tunnel project. The heritage-listed South African Soldiers Memorial which has stood in South Melbourne’s Albert Road Reserve for the last 92 years, pays homage to the some 23,000 Australians who served in Boer War from 1889-1902.
